Naval Battle Documentary at Kelley’s Point
There were many “Brown Water Navy” battles in the western theater of the American Civil War. This was one that was one of the largest between the Confederate Cavalry and the United Sates Navy between U.S. Naval Lt. Commander Le Roy Finch and Colonel David Campbell Kelley of Forrest’s Old Brigade. This naval battle documentary video describes the actions between December 3rd and the 15th in 1864. Two Medal of Honor’s were awarded from this battle, which was a warm-up for the Decisive Battle of Nashville.
