Mark Robertson Cockrill at The Battle of Nashville

Cockrill PhotoGrandson of Nashville founding father Mark Robertson, 75-year-old civilian Cockrill fought along side the Confederate cavalry in a charge against Union horse soilders near this position. He was latter incarcerated for a period of time after assaulting a Union solider in retaliation for the destruction of his property and slaughter of his livestock.
