Kelley’s Point Civil War Battlefield Park
Nashville Greenways
NOTE: As of 2022 the homeless population in the park has grown to over 50 people.
Kelleys Point Park entrance is right behind Jim & Nicks Bar-B-Q at 7004 Charlotte Pike Nashville, TN 37209. The river overlook is about 500 yards from the parking area.

Some historians are sceptical that this is the correct location of Kelley’s Battery, refered to as “Bell’s Mill” in the Battle of Nashville Navy records. This is confused in the U.S. Naval-OR on page 641 of Volume 26. This transcript is clearly an error. Bell’s Mill is 18 miles by water (the Navy would be sure of this fact), but is 9 miles by road. I believe that who ever transcribed the hand written text from the original report, mistook a “4” for the number “9”. This could have been reenforced by the first bend in the river being closer to 4 miles, where the second bend at 9 miles, is Bell’s Mill/Bend.
