Tour Routes of The Battle of Nashville
Nashville has the most expansive American Civil War battlefield in the United States. In fact, the periphery is so big, the Official Record atlas is not able to show the entire area of operation. From 9 miles west of Nashville on the Cumberland River, to Nolensville Pike, the Nashville battlefield covers over 12 miles across, not including the cavalry operations as far away as Murfreesboro another 30 miles away.
The Battle of Nashville, is really just an extension of The Battle of Franklin and Spring Hill, which makes the operation cover four counties in Middle Tennessee.
This Battle of Nashville Tour is about 6 hours long and covers most of the sites in Davidson County from the epic battle of 1864. Note: The Nashville National Cemetery is closed on weekends. Fort Negley is closed Sunday and Mondays.
